Obama and our Children

EYE ON AMERICA started this conversation

Hello america, back to ask all what has america come to when parents don't want their kids to listen to the President of The United States on television.A president that has two wonderful kids of his own, wants to make sure all kids have health insurance, and get the best education they can receive, but parents around the nation don't wnt schools to air the speech aimed at our children.Tell me what can this president say that could ever be more damaging than what our kids have endured in the last eight years from the last president. Please let me know what to do when our nation has become sister to some of our third world counties. No money,no health care,no jobs, constant war overseas, troops dying everyday, people losing their homes, stock market in the toilet, car lots closing everyday, fortune 500 companies filing chapter 11/13,ceo's stilling our ballout money, with all that going on in america that stems from the last president, what in the world could President Obama say to damage our youth that the last years of lies and broken promases didn't.Please america, who ever is out there let me know........

To all on this thread!

Please, calm down the discussion.

Generally speaking, we all know that issues like "Bush", "Clinton", "Iraq War", "race", etc. are mostly divisive, unfortunately... and lead, eventually, to bitter exchanges.

We suggest everybody just voluntary stop posting further comments on this thread.

You haven't been around here long enough to EVER EVER speak to Ekikaseven with those words or that intonation in your writing. She is a friend to all who come here and has spent years building pages of info on her own time to help others. She does this because she cares and maybe she cares to much sometimes. I don't know squat about you and I don't need to. You can take your butt out and away from this page as far as I'm concerned. But I will warn you buddy, you will be kicked out of here if you try to demean any of us ever again. You also need to apologize to Ekikaseven for what you said about her and I understand why she said it. I too thought you were speaking of race so maybe my intelligence is not so hot either. By the way, a few more names not to insult--WhoKnew--Elaine of TSA--Friendshelpingfriends---StarShine---Soulight---now thats just to start with, you would be wise to get to know who your insulting before you open up your big mouth. sheshe030

If that be the case, please accept my apologies. However, there are many people in 'other races' that have 'gotten off' for murder, all type of crimes. I just didn't see where you mentioned any of them. That is what would give one the impression of ''you being partial".

Have a good night

What does Micheal Jackson & O J Simpson have to do with  President Obama?

Oh, I forgot they are the 'same color', so that must be what you are referring too.

I agree and I am not here to fight about it. I personally wish Bill Clinton was in office he had great repore with the other countries and I am talking political.

Being a President really takes a toll on oneself.

I personally feel bad for this president and his administration, they inherited a huge deficit, i feel Mr. Bush left this country in total financial chaos, the health care system total  disaster, housing problems, our kids are dying in a war is not even our concern as i see it, the list goes on and on.

What are our expectations of Mr. Obama and his administration, too much, this man has to be a real magician to turn this country around .

I feel he is doing the best that he can, but he is trying ti do too much at the same time, he has his hands full of issues he needs to work on as soon as possible, i feel he is a good president and he has genuine care for our kids in particular and he does care for this country as a whole.

Mr. Bush was in office for 8 years and a lot of damage was done, it's going to take alot more than few months to fix these problems .

Hi,

I like your insight too. As long as people are fighting one another, nothing will get done to help us. Then those same people will complaina about the government 'not helping' them. The way some people act, I'm beginning to see why.

I guess people don't realize: "united we stand' & "divided we fall".

love your opinions on this, this type of conversation is what makes america great.I do have one question for you, when americans was told about Saddam having weapons of mass destruction, plots to have terrorist attacks, defense secretary raises our terror alert, and we sent troops over to look for and capture Saddam, and it came out that every aspect was a lie and just for political gain, inwhich was just admitted by our past administration, was you calling for impeachment then.We as american have to stop giving excuses for some and want to persucute others.President Bush was the lowest form for a national leader we have had since Nixon.Lies on top of lies solely for advancement of his political party and his own pocket.Between him and Dick Chaney who got rich, only them two with the oil trade and war.As I like to say,it doesn't take a big man to start a fight but it does take one to finish.Bush got a lot started and didn't worry about finishing anything. He left this country in the worst shape it has been in since the depression and done nothing to try to fix all the problems he created.Clinton had our budget balanced, paying off or deficit, and the best overall presidential rating in history, and those are all facts not opinions. Please take the time and look those facts up along with Obama possibly being a illegal allien, not true please take the time and do some research.Great confersation,i enjoy talking to you.

I really love your insight on this,we have a president that we all need to stand behind, just like in times of crisis we stood behind president Bush. When you are a country in need you should stand behind someone that is for the people and tring to make a better place for all. It's amazing how a lot of people see black and white but we have a president who is for all, tring to help all,and you always get the one who still only can see black and white.Maybe one day we can get beyond the traps of politics, race, and take care of the problems we have as a whole.

in response to TruthBeTold...   Love your opinion Truthbetold's,but if we intrust our teachers to take care of our children five days a week, trust them to teach our children math, english, reading, writing, good judgement, interact with other kids for social developement, shouldn't we trust them to have a program on that wouldn't single out our children to be brain washed by our president.

Wow! Talk about dissension among the ranks! If you want your children to watch what the president has to say, then record it to watch it later together, or look it up on the net.

As for some other comments: divide and conquer, socialism, closing our borders...

What's next? The New World Order?  How about a little communism thrown in there - just for fun? After all that is what you are suggesting when you talk about dividing everything equally. No one is worth more than $1 million a year - Why? Because you say so? So where does the rest of the money go? And who determines that?

What you fail to realize is that the President - no matter who that is at the time - does NOT make these decisions on his own. He has to get approval from congress and the senate. There is a whole slew of people who have to agree with and approve his decisions BEFORE it gets done.  Not to mention lobbyists and all the other groups who factor in the decisions on Capitol hill. These are people WE ELECTED. If you voted, or not, you still factor in to the decision on who is working with the President.

But the best part about all of this is: we still have the right to freedom of speech, and if I am not mistaken, the freedom to choose. The last I heard, there was no militia waiting at the voting booths. So exercise your rights, but try to do so with some iota of intelligence rather than desperation.

You are seriously mistaken if you think all that happened under one President.  Let me state for the record that I am not a fan of Bush.  As for Obama, I don’t care if he is black, white, pink or purple.  He has NO business talking to any child directly.  If he wants to address the children of the Nation he should do it at 6 pm at night when their parents can be there to address any questions they may have or even turn the TV off if he says things our children shouldn’t hear.  Divide and conquer that is what he is doing.  What business does he have with the children that he needs to speak to them directly?  How many times did he mention wanting to create a National Service Army that is larger than our current recruits (Army, Navy, Marines) combined?  What could he possibly need with an army this size if he is all about peace?  Where do you think this army will come from?  Answer: THE CHILDREN you say he is innocently talking to about education.  This is NOT innocent people. THINK!!  READ BETWEEN THE LINES.  He does not have good intentions.

I so agree with you. You couldn't be more RIGHT!

These people doing this are STUPID!!!!!!!!!!

Kids need to continue to get their education. If the kids DO NOT get their education then when the economy gets better-than those kids will be left behind in life. And, the economy ALWAYS get better. All one has to do is read books on American history.

Alot of people are giving the president a hard time & scrutinize him and the real reason they are doing is because he is African American.  And, thats ashame that in this day & time we have not overcome prejudice. When will we Americans look beyond the color of a person's skin.
